About Dr. Jill Russo

I am a licensed Acupuncturist with a masters degree in Acupuncture from Tri- State college of Acupuncture and a doctorate from Five Branches University.  I am Nationally accredited through the NCCAOM  and licensed in New Jersey and New York.  I practice in two locations in Northern New Jersey.

I was trained in various styles of acupuncture.  In many treatments I will utilize an Acu-graph which is a state of the art machine to test meridian flow so we have a visual and concrete information on how the energy of "Qi" is flowing and where it is stuck in your body. I practice Kiiko Mastumoto Acupuncture which is a gentle Japanese style of acupuncture. I incorporate Trigger point needling or "Dry Needling" which is especially good for patients with knots, injury, and muscular adhesions and scar tissue.  I am a certified in NAET which is an outstanding system for allergy elimination.  I also have been trained in Mei Zen facial Acupuncture which is a fantastic alternative to rejuvenation and preventing aging.

Trigger Point Acupuncture " Dry Needling"

We develop trigger points or knots due to improper body mechanics (Hunching over a desk), overuse (standing all day, or using a blow drying all day), or from trauma and injury.  The muscle fibers fuse together impeding range of motion and proper blood circulation.  Having healthy oxygen and nutrient rich blood is vital to having a muscle, tissue or area of the body heal and repair.  If trigger points and knots go untreated they usually only get worse and can lead to tears and severe pain.

These style of acupuncture was developed to eliminate the knot by going through the muscle fibers and breaking up the adhesions.  Often a twitch response will be felt.  Usually, immediately after a session there is more range of motion as proper blood flood is restored.  Sometimes there is some soreness the same as if you had a deep tissue massage or a good work out.

NAET - Allergy Elimination

NAET is an energy balancing procedure that helps remove energy blockages.  It allows your bodies energy to accept allergens and non harmful.  An "allergen" in NAET is anything the body does not accept or recognizes as harmful.  This can range from dust, environmental factors like cold and damp to someones energy or voice!

This procedure incorporates a series of treatments that begin by making sure the body is accepting and fulling utilizing essential nutrients. They must be done in order.  The reason for this is that they are needed for normal physical, psychological and emotional function.  We need to have the bodies energy accept and use all nutrients properly (most people do not!) Once this is done it is easier and more effective to treat specific allergens.  Most will notice after the basic 15 nutrients are treated, many symptoms go away as the body's immune system and over all function will be stronger!

AFTER TREATMENT:

Changes me be felt very subtly or you may have a general sense of wellbeing.  Most reactions to allergens will clear up after the 25 hour avoidance is completed.  In cases of severe allergens or emotional blocks 20-60 hours may be asked to avoid allergen.  There is a 25 hour window of avoidance after a treatment due to the fact that there are 12 major meridian systems in the body, each energy cycle takes 2 hours.  We want to create an uninterrupted journey of hat particular energy to be imprinted on the brain as harmless.

Subsequent treatments on one partidular allergen may be needed depending on a persons overall health, age, intensity of the illness and state of the immune system.

You will receive one treatment once or twice a week and will need at least 15 treatments for the basic clearing and balancing procedure.

Acupuncture Traditional Chinese herbal medicine

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient healing modality used where certain areas of the body which are in pain are suctioned.  This will reduce spasm in the muscle, reestablish normal blood flow to the area to heal, and help with circulation. "Toxic"old blood is pulled to the surface and will be carried away by the lymphatic system. When a person has a lot of dark cupping marks after a session that means they had a lot of stagnant blood and really needed it!  Once cupping is done regularly you will notice the cupping marks get lighter and lighter as circulation is improving and pain is diminishing. Cupping marks may last 3-7 days.
